This year, “the biggest colour festival” in Scandinavia will be held at Vallhall Arena on Saturday 6 May.

The colours, which consist of natural materials, are used at this festival in a “cheerful and joy-spreading game”, where people throw coloured powder at each other, while dancing and having fun, writes Utrop.

Everyone is invited to join this “game” with many different colours to represent the diversity in Norway, where background, gender and age play no role.

After a successful debut last year, which included 2,500 participants and over 400 volunteers, the festival will be even bigger this year, says head of the organising committee of the colour festival SubbaRao Bojedla via a press release.

The celebration in Oslo focuses on the diversity in Norway, where the various Indian cultures that live in the country will be showcased and how they appear together.

The festival will include dance, music and creative show giving the participants the opportunity to exchange knowledge and experiences. Here you have the opportunity to learn about different cultures and their contribution to society. This festival is a tribute to diversity, inclusion and unity, it will be a unique experience for all who participate, says media manager Navneet Kumar Pandey.

This year, as last year, this will be a meeting place for the exchange of knowledge and experience. I am overwhelmed by the ripple effects the colour festival creates, says Navnit Kaur Kahlon, who works with diversity and inclusion in the Defence sector and contributes as a volunteer to the organisation of the festival.

The event includes speeches from famous people, including former Prime Minister Erna Solberg and MP Kamzy Gunaratnam.
