When asked if an Israeli ground invasion of Lebanon is now inevitable, US President Joe Biden replied on Saturday that there must now be a ceasefire.
“It’s time for a ceasefire,” Biden said (NTB-Reuters)
The constant clamour for a ceasefire is ignored by Israel. Because they know that a ceasefire only means a reorganisation for the enemy, the terrorists they are fighting. A ceasefire can give the enemy room to fulfil their dream of destroying Israel. The Israelis know they are fighting for their very existence.
When asked whether the US would respond to missile attacks against US warships in the Red Sea, Biden replied that “we’ll respond.”
One might wonder: Why hasn’t the US responded forcefully long ago against the Houthis, who are causing so much trouble for the world economy? Biden leads a military force that has the ability to crush the enemy, but lacks the political will.
Israel realises it must do the job itself.
The Israeli military said in a statement on Sunday evening that the attacks were aimed at the Yemeni Houthi rebels in the impoverished country in the far south of the Arabian Peninsula.
In a large-scale air operation today, dozens of air force aircraft, including fighters, tankers and reconnaissance planes, attacked military targets belonging to the Houthi terrorist regime in the Ras Issa and Hodeida areas of Yemen, Israeli military spokesman David Avraham said in a statement to AFP (NTB-Reuters)
Note how NTB is trying to create some sympathy for the poor, “impoverished” Houthi terrorists.
It feels nicer to focus on the ceasefire. It sounds nice and “progressive”. That’s why the attacks will continue until Trump takes over in January.
If it’s Harris, it’s game over.
Our foreign minister Espen Barth Eide wants a ceasefire before he “gets up in the morning” (my words). Therefore, for some strange reason, he has to reward terrorists.
“The Middle East is experiencing one of its darkest hours,” said Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide as he urged all states to recognise Palestine from the UN rostrum (NTB-Solveig Joten Svensen)
It must be rewarded if you kill and maltreat, seems to be Eide’s attitude. I don’t think that’s his attitude, but these are the consequences of his political activities.
And he gets full support from the EU and other thugs. Israel, whose back is against the wall? Nobody cares about them. The UN hall apparently applauded Eide, while large parts of the assembly walked out in protest against Netanyahu. Jews defending themselves and their families cannot be tolerated! Everyone in the ceasefire mafia is playing the same string on the sitar.
It’s like if you see a bully attacking a person in the schoolyard, and after ten or twelve blows, the victim of the bullying responds by counterattacking.
Then Eide, Biden, Starmer and Borell will step in and demand a ceasefire. Maybe some dialogue? But is it really dialogue when people march out of the hall because they can’t bear to hear Netanyahu speak?
Yes, Eide, Biden, Starmer and Borell will step in and demand a ceasefire.
Sure, Eide condemns 7 October. But at the same time, he wants to reward those who were behind the massacres, kidnappings and rapes. Because these Palestinian Arabs are suffering the most.
– The enormous suffering inflicted on the Palestinian population in Gaza is unparalleled. Much of Gaza is in ruins. At least 41,000 people have been killed, and many more are wounded and maimed for life,” said Eide.
“Unprecedented?” Has our foreign policy wonk read a single history book? Verdun? The Somme? The Second World War? Gettysburg? Stalingrad? Kursk? Is Eide serious here?
Besides: Isn’t Hamas primarily responsible for the suffering of the civilians in Gaza?
What Eide is doing is like complaining about Spitfire pilots because they tried (and succeeded) to prevent London from being bombed to pieces during the Battle of Britain.
So many British pilots died that the colonels could be 22 years old.
Back then, we had politicians like Churchill, who understood quite a bit more than Eide, who had probably told the Spitfire heroes to call a “truce” with the attacking German bombers.
Churchill put it simply, in his usual elegant way.
“Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few.”
Now we can say the opposite: Never in the field of human conflict were so much owed by so few to so many.
Eide continues:
As we gather at the UN this week, Lebanon has experienced its deadliest days in decades. We are on the brink of a major regional war.
It doesn’t seem to occur to Eide that Lebanon could have avoided this if Hezbollah hadn’t been attacking Israel with rockets for almost a year. They started on 8 October as if to punish Israel for the massacre carried out by Hamas.
Lebanon was a well-functioning country, and Beirut was called the Paris of the Middle East. Then came the Muslims fleeing from other Muslims. Yasser Arafat came with the PLO because Jordan couldn’t stand them anymore. Now Lebanon is ruined and destroyed. We, the Sunday people, are next.
The whole of northern Israel is now largely emptied, tens of thousands of Israelis have had to flee their homes.
You get a nasty feeling: Is this unproblematic because it’s only about Jews?
Would Eide just accept it if all of nothern Norway were made uninhabitable because of an external enemy?
Would he have asked any resistance forces to calm down, and rather enter into a so-called ceasefire?
– Even neighbouring countries that long ago signed peace agreements with Israel are under enormous pressure. The situation is getting worse by the hour,” said Eide, emphasising that the region’s conflicts are deeply intertwined.
But these neighbouring countries are not under pressure from Israel, but from the ceasefire gang, such as Biden, Borell and Eide.
Eide attempts to compare defending against a terrorist attack with the mistakes made by George W. Bush after 9/11.
“This division into a simplified black-and-white picture where there is no room for nuance and complexity, nor impartiality, and with an excessive reliance on military power alone, is extremely dangerous,” said Eide.
And it didn’t end well. We need to learn from past mistakes.
Eide has never tested his ideas on impartiality out in real life. To him, it seems simple: Down with Israel, full support for their opponents.
These, at least, are the consequences of his actions and the distribution of my and your funds.
It’s easy to get discouraged at a time like this. But in Israel, they don’t lose heart. Seeing a reservist called up for frontline warfare say goodbye to his three little crying children makes an impression.
Those children are dead unless the IDF wins this war. Then it’s our turn, thanks to Eide and the entire Western political class.
