SV leader Kirsti Bergstø has got into a long-distance duel with Elon Musk over her wall of shame about rich people who have left Norway because of the tax burden. Musk couldn’t believe his eyes. In the US, young smart people are held up, in Norway they are driven out and Bergstø is proud of that. She calls it the “American state of affairs”.
Bergstø thinks it’s nothing to be ashamed of. She is proud. At the national board meeting on Saturday, she said:</p
– I agree, baby! This is crazy, said Bergstø.
– I’ve created a wall of shame with golden nuggets from the rich. When I get to the office in the morning, it’s clear to me who and what we’re actually working for,” Bergstø explained in his speech.
It sounds like the wall is a trophy wall of how many people SV has managed to expel.
– We have the Norwegian model, with strong communities, trade unions and welfare. But it’s under pressure. A right-wing wind is blowing here too. We see politicians with a Trumpist self-confidence,” Bergstø said from the rostrum.
.
Bergstø does not realise that the party closest to her own, the Democrats, is the party of the rich in the USA. 70 per cent of wealth in the US belongs to Democrat voters. Trump voters account for just 30 per cent. The situation is completely reversed and the Norwegian media won’t report it even though it’s a story from several years ago.
The Democrats have also become the war party. Here, too, Norway is lagging behind.
Bergstø sticks to the old horror stories about the right storming ahead. “Then the left will have to stem the tide and close ranks”
.
“When the right wind is tearing at our security, we need a left that dares to be left,” she proclaimed.
.
Bergstø fails to recognise that it is the left in the US that has torn the ground from under the working and middle classes. That’s why people have turned out in droves to vote for Trump. He is the defender of the little guy.
That doesn’t fit the image Bergstø still lives by.
