Nearly 100 Norwegian citizens have got out of Sudan, with Norwegian or foreign help. Foreign Minister Anniken Huitfeldt is relieved that they have returned home.
Foreign Minister Anniken Huitfeldt announced this on Twitter on Saturday afternoon.
NTB reports on the case.
In the statement, she writes that the foreign service is working around the clock to assist Norwegian citizens with departure from Sudan.
I am very happy that almost 100 Norwegian citizens have so far gotten out of Sudan with Norwegian help or help from other countries. The broad international cooperation continues in full, writes Huitfeldt.
It is unclear whether there are still more Norwegian citizens in Sudan and whether they want to leave the country.
