U.S. President Joe Biden will hold a phone call with Israeli President Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday about their plans to attack Iran.
The call will be the first between Biden and Netanyahu in two tense months, and comes at a time when Israel is considering major strikes that could lead to a significant escalation of the war in the Middle East, according to Axios.
Netanyahu held lengthy meetings Tuesday night with senior ministers and military leaders to try to reach a decision on the scope and timing of Israel’s attack, according to two Israeli officials.
It seems pretty clear what the Biden regime’s goal is with the talks.
– We want to use the conversation to try to shape the limits of Israeli retaliation, a US official told Axios.
He added that the US wants to make sure that Israel attacks targets in Iran that are important without being disproportionate.
The talks between Biden and Netanyahu are taking place a week after Iran attacked Israel with over 180 ballistic missiles.
