Kamala Harris pledged Saturday that she and the Bidens are sending $157 million in humanitarian aid to civilians in Lebanon, after announcing that only $750 will go to the immediate needs of individual victims of Hurricane Helene.
Harris also added that this will bring US aid to Lebanon this year to $385 million, according to Breitbart News.
To put this in perspective: The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announced on 4 October that it has given $45 million in disaster relief so far: $23 million to people in Florida, $17 million to North Carolina and $4.5 million to South Carolina.
As previously mentioned, FEMA has spent over $600 million to assist illegal migrants. The sums handed out to Ukraine are gigantic. Our own citizens have to make do with less.
This comes as thousands of Americans lost their homes, businesses, possessions, pets – and in many cases, family members – due to Hurricane Helene’s devastation in the country’s southeast last weekend. $750 in immediate relief isn’t much help when you’ve lost your house, all your possessions and perhaps a close relative.
Hurricane victims can, however, apply for a range of additional assistance from FEMA, such as Displacement Assistance to pay for hotel or motel stays, while a hurricane victim is left with their long-term housing plan.
Lebanon, the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, on the other hand, are allocated funds without applying. The Biden regime has allocated USD 336 million to the latter two.
At the same time, Harris is following in the footsteps of Biden and will push for a ceasefire.
“The United States will not relent in its pressure on Israel and Arab leaders to reach an agreement on hostages and a ceasefire in Gaza,” the vice president said in an interview on Sunday.
It appears that the Israeli government has decided to ignore the constant demands of the current US administration.
