The Biden regime is trying to influence Israel’s retaliation against Iran, but is being increasingly sidelined.

Biden also does not want Israel to attack Iran’s oil infrastructure, writes Times of Israel.

“If I were in their shoes, I would be thinking about options other than attacking oil fields,” Biden said during a rare appearance at the daily White House press briefing on Friday.

Biden’s latest remarks came a day after he said the idea of an Israeli strike on Iranian oil facilities was “under discussion”, causing oil prices to skyrocket amid fears of a sudden shock to global supply.

Donald Trump sees it differently, saying he believes Israel should prioritise attacking Iran’s nuclear facilities. During a rally in Fayetville, North Carolina, Trump commented on Biden’s views.

“They asked him what he thought about Iran, whether he would attack Iran. And he answered: “As long as they don’t attack the nukes. That’s what you want to hit, right?” Trump said.

“I think he got it wrong,” Trump replied to a question from one of the participants. “Isn’t that what you want to hit? I mean, that’s the biggest risk we have, nuclear weapons.”

“When they asked him that question, the answer should have been: Hit the nukes first, and worry about the rest later.”

“If they’re going to do it, they’re going to do it. But we want to find out what their plans are.”

Biden and Netanyahu have not spoken for six weeks. The reason, according to Biden, was “because nothing is happening right now.” A rather strange statement after the dramatic developments in the Middle East recently.

A reporter suggested that Biden is incapable of influencing Israel. The president rejected the premise, saying his team is in constant contact with their Israeli counterparts.

“It’s the holiday season (…) They’re not going to make a decision right away. So we’re going to wait and see when they want to talk.”

But Yom Kippur is next Saturday, so the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have many days to carry out attacks against Iran.

Moreover, the IDF is unlikely to relax during the holiday, after the enemy used it to attack Israel both during the 1973 Yom Kippur War and 50 years later on 7 October 2023.
