CNN hosts are silent as Democratic strategist Julie Roginsky delivers some “hard truths” to her party.
According to Roginsky, the problem wasn’t Joe Biden or Kamala Harris, but the party itself, which has gone so far left that the average American doesn’t even understand their language anymore.

Democratic strategist Julie Roginsky delivered “some hard truths” about Donald Trump’s historic election victory during a CNN segment on Thursday, claiming that her own side “is not the party of common sense” and can’t talk to normal people, theNew York Post reports.
– I’m going to say some hard truths to my friends in the Democratic Party. This is not Joe Biden’s fault. It’s not Kamala Harris’s fault. It’s not Barack Obama’s fault – it’s the Democratic Party’s fault, because they don’t know how to communicate effectively with voters, she said.
– We’re not the party of common sense, and that’s the message the voters have sent us.
She also criticised the use of woke buzzwords like latinxs instead of latinos, which virtually no one in this group likes.
– It makes them think we don’t even live on the same planet as them.
She also took issue with the countless demonstrations at universities, which since the terrorist attack on 7 October have been characterised by pro-Palestinian demonstrations, illegal tent camps and riots.
– When we are too afraid to say: Hey, students, if you’re destroying the campus of Columbia University because you’re unhappy with some policy, and you’re taking over a university and destroying it, and preventing other students from learning, that’s unacceptable.
– We need to get back to being the sensible party that people look at us and say: We understand you, we appreciate what you’re saying because you speak our language. And until we do that, we should stop blaming others for our own mistakes.

The criticism also comes from other quarters. The Norwegian Social Democrat Espen Goffeng writes in Nettavisen about a long-awaited self-criticism from the American left. He mentions several examples, but the focus is more or less the same.
Included in this should have been a reevaluation of ultra-progressive activism that surveys show that is unpopular in pretty much every demographic group. This activism came from the left. And as the party of the left in this two-party system, it was the Democrats who were blamed for it.
The Democrats should have already done this after Trump won the 2016 election, writes Goffeng.
But this soul-searching never happened. What happened was that the Democrats largely put their own behaviour on steroids. This was again reinforced during the tumultuous years of 2020-2021, when both the pandemic and violent activism raged.
Along for this was CNN. It was at this time that NRK’s Veronica Westrin called CNN a propaganda channel for the Democrats in the same way that Fox News is for the Republicans.
Even poker star Daniel Negreanu has got involved. On X, he criticises the blocking of Bernie Sanders and Tulsi Gabbard. He also criticises the Democrats for betting on Kamala Harris and woke.
You prevented Robbert Kennedy Jr. and others from making their case in the primaries. You embraced wokeism and identity politics, demonised the evil, white, cis-gendered male population, and despised those who have attained economic wealth.
The big question is whether the Democrats will come to terms with the policies they have pursued since Obama was elected. But it doesn’t look too promising, since many of the Democratic Party’s leaders and supporters even after the crushing election say they lost because people hate people of colour and women, and therefore didn’t vote for Harris.
