The Biden regime let in somewhere around 10 million illegals. But what isn’t talked about out loud is all the unaccompanied children and what happens to them. It’s a big number and the Ministry of Health is not co-operative, even though they are in charge.

When unaccompanied minors turn up, like the two girls in Texas who only had a piece of paper with them last week, they are handed over by the border patrol to HHS, Health and Human Services. This department does not have a good track record.

When children arrive unaccompanied, they are eventually transferred to the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and released to sponsors in the US.

How well are sponsors vetted? Not very well.

HHS has an inspector general who recently released a report. It tells us that 32,000 children were supposed to appear before a judge, but failed to do so. Where are they? What has happened to them?

The issue made headlines earlier this year when the DHS Office of Inspector General sent a report to Congress stating that more than 32,000 unaccompanied migrant minors had failed to appear for immigration court hearings over the past five years, and that Immigration and Customs Enforcement could not account for the whereabouts of all those who had failed to appear.

But this is just the tip of the iceberg. UC are unaccompanied single children.

“During our ongoing audit to assess ICE’s ability to monitor the location and status of UCs released or transferred from its custody to the Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), we found that ICE transferred more than 448,000 UCs to HHS from fiscal years 2019 to 2023,” the internal watchdog reported.

448,000 is a very high number. No government agency can afford to lose that many.

The ICE that is supposed to find and deport illegal migrants has not worked under the Biden regime. Rather, they have sabotaged court appearances and deportations.

The watchdog also found that some 291,000 unaccompanied migrant children have yet to be served with removal proceedings, because ICE has routinely failed to set up immigration court dates and serve summonses.

Now Tom Homan comes in as the head of ICE. His old job. That’s a different ball game. But Democratic governors have vowed to sabotage the effort. That could be difficult if an ugly reality is uncovered.

Even Democrats may have problems with the exploitation of unaccompanied minors.
