Labour blocks investigation into Starmer’s conduct as Director of Public Prosecutions during grooming scandal

Keir Starmer was head of the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) while the Oldham grooming scandal was under investigation. A number of British children were subjected to serious serial rape and massive violence.

Most of the rapists were Pakistani Muslims. Tens of thousands of vulnerable British girls fell victim to the brutal assaults, while the authorities looked the other way, not wanting to appear racist or Islamophobic.

Elon Musk has been a vocal critic of Starmer and his government in recent months.

On X, Musk wrote that Phillips “deserves to be in jail” over the “disgraceful” decision, which he believed had been made to protect the prime minister, according to The Telegraph.

– Who was the head of the CPS when rape gangs were allowed to exploit young girls without being brought to justice? Keir Starmer, 2008-2013.

– Who is the boss of Jess Phillips right now? Keir Stamer [sic]. The real reason she’s refusing to investigate the gang rapes is that it would obviously lead to Keir Starmer (then head of the CPS) being blamed.

Musk also pointed out that under “two-tier Keir” there is “no justice for serious, violent crimes, but jail for social media posts”.

Tory leader Kemi Badenoch also reacted strongly.

– It’s high time for a full national investigation into the gang rape scandal. In recent years, there have been trials across the country, but no one responsible has seen the bigger picture – 2025 must be the year when victims start to get justice.

Badenoch was, however, rebuked by Nigel Farage, the leader of Reform UK.

– Talk is cheap. The Conservatives had 14 years in government to launch an inquiry. The establishment has failed the victims of grooming gangs at every level.

Chris Philp, shadow home secretary, said in an interview with BBC4:

– I can’t speculate on Keir Starmer’s personal motivations, but I think looking at the behaviour of the Crown Prosecution Service, including when Keir Starmer was director of the CPS, is one of the things that this inquiry should certainly be looking at.

– That’s why we need an investigation, a proper statutory investigation to get to the bottom of those kinds of issues.

Criticism from their own ranks

In another article, former Labour Minister for Transport Tom Harris asks the question: Why is a self-proclaimed feminist refusing to conduct an inquiry into the “rape gangs” in Oldham?

As many on social media suggest, the reason could be that Phillips represents Birmingham’s Yardley constituency, which has a high proportion of Muslim voters. Her Muslim supporters were delighted when she resigned as shadow minister in 2023 in protest at her leader’s stance on Gaza.

This came just a week after Hamas terrorists murdered, raped, tortured and kidnapped their way through southern Israel on 7 October 2023.

Harris is not gracious to Phillips:

To be clear: A self-proclaimed feminist who has often railed against the injustice of men’s violence against women and girls will not be part of an investigation into alleged systematic abuse – including rape, torture and death threats – of young, vulnerable working-class girls by gangs of men.

The grooming scandal never seems to end.
