Kamala Harris thought she was going to win the election with the help of women, blacks, migrants and Latinos. But all of these groups turned against Trump.

Trump received increased support in all of the Democrats’ target groups. Why didn’t Harris get more votes from women?

She positioned herself as the most female-friendly presidential candidate ever. At the Democratic National Convention in August, her speeches focused relentlessly on how Madam President would “restore abortion rights across the country”.

This is what Camilla Long writes in an op-ed in The Times. At the national convention in August, speakers talked a lot about “joy” and “vibes”. There were “homecoming queens for abortion” banners, and a speech by an activist who talked about how she had been “raped by my father after years of abuse”.

In the hall, eyes were teary. But most women in the US have not been raped by their own father, nor are they interested in celebrating abortions, not even thos who thinks women should have this right, up to a certain point.

Migration and the economy

Women see no joy in mass migration. They don’t want their daughters to be raped, their sons beaten up or become addicted to fentanyl.

Few women get any particular vibes from a miserable economy, inflation, expensive energy and constant wars. Most women want their families to live safe and happy lives.

That’s why many more women than last time voted for Trump. Because they believe he can stop illegal migration, end the wars, improve the economy and drill, baby drill.

In the swing states, only 11 per cent thought abortion was the most important issue, and only 7 per cent thought climate was the most important. Immigration and the economy mattered more to American women.

But Harris focused on abortion and climate, in the little time she set aside to do anything other than berate Trump, cackle like a chicken or talk about joy and vibes.

There’s a point at which the anti-sexist party starts to look a bit, well, sexist, doesn’t it? I’m not just talking about the candidate – a woman who, as we know, was hired simply because she was a woman.

False abortion promises and LGBTQ madness

Harris didn’t have a single policy that would actually help women. How could she “write” Roe v Wade “into law”, if she became president, when the decision must be made by the U.S. Supreme Court?

Moreover: When she says abortion, does she mean abortion right up to birth, including after birth in some states?

Then there were policies that directly attack women’s rights. One example is men in women’s sport, which in some sports makes it impossible for a young working-class girl athlete to win a university scholarship, no matter how hard she trains.

At one moment, someone could tell you they were in favour of “no limits” on abortion – “that’s a matter between a woman and her doctor”. And then, in another moment, be completely unable to define what a woman was.

One has to wonder: What do the Democrats really stand for? Women, or just operations?

In addition, Harris had chosen Tim Walz as her vice president. Walz had turned Minnesota into a “trans refuge.”

He signed a law that said children could be taken away from their parents if the parents didn’t agree that the child should receive “gender affirming care”.

Did they really think women supported policies that could end up with them losing their children?

To put it another way: Given the choice between accepting that Trump said grab them by the pussy years ago, or having their child stolen and sterilised by the state, almost all women in the US will choose the former.

Donald Trump was not afraid to criticise what he correctly described as the “chemical, physical and emotional mutilation of our youth”.

It’s also a lie that Trump wants a federal ban on abortion, as he has repeatedly confirmed. He just wanted to respect the Constitution, which says that the states are responsible for health care.

Besides, it wasn’t Trump who made the decision, it was the U.S. Supreme Court.

Celebrities and “deplorables”

The Harris campaign also had its “deplorables” moment aimed at women.

Did you see the Julia Roberts advert where a woman secretly votes for Harris? Talk about toxic femininity. “Did you make the right choice?” her ugly MAGA husband asks her. “Sure, honey,” she chirps.

White women were portrayed as hateful beings who live in fear of their evil husbands. Harris went for celebrities with no political skills at all, but even women are fed up with wealthy millionaires telling them how to vote and what to think.

Trump, on the other hand, is allying himself with strong women like Tulsi Gabbard. Some say he’s almost afraid of Susie Wiles, but Trump chose her as his chief of staff anyway.

Long concludes like this:

My view of women is the same as my view of men: I want the women who run things to be good at running things, not just that they’re women. I want a killer energy from people in power, and that includes women.

Harris lacked all of this, which is precisely why she lost the election.
