The owner of Time Magazine – America’s best-selling news magazine – is not very happy with Kamala Harris.

– Despite multiple requests, Time has not been granted an interview with Kamala Harris – unlike every other presidential candidate. We believe in transparency (…) Why isn’t the Vice President engaging with the public on the same level?

This is what Marc Benioff, the owner of Time, recently complained.

The reason is obvious, writes Michael Deacon in The Telegraph: Harris and her aides are now in full panic mode.

Donald Trump and his allies are missing the point. Of course the so-called liberal media in the US is biased about Kamala Harris. They are always biased towards the Democratic candidate. There’s nothing new in that.

What makes their behaviour right now so remarkable is not that they are biased. It’s that they’re willing to be biased even if the object of their admiration hasn’t given them anything in return.

They’re rooting for someone who won’t even talk to them. The Norwegian media seem incapable of understanding what’s going on.

They’re more worried that democracy will die if Trump wins. The fact that no one has voted for Harris as a presidential candidate is blithely ignored.

During a rally in Pennsylvania, Harris focused on the threat she believes Trump poses.

She said he talks about how he considers anyone who doesn’t support him, or who doesn’t bend to his will, to be an enemy of our country.

– These are among the reasons why I believe so strongly that a second Trump term would be dangerous and pose a tremendous risk to the United States, Harris said, according to the New York Times.

– Donald Trump has become increasingly unstable and unhinged, she said, according to The Guardian.(NTB-AFP)

After three months, Harris has still barely given any serious interviews. She prefers cosy sex podcasts and beer-drinking talk shows with left-wing comedians like Stephen Colbert, where she can torment listeners with the sound of her grotesque laughter.

This strongly suggests that she, or her advisers, or possibly both, believe that she simply wouldn’t be able to handle proper questioning about her record as vice president and certain views she has expressed in the past (such as that taxpayers should fund sex change operations for prisoners and illegal immigrants).

Even left-liberal Saturday Night Live is now making fun of Harris.

Harris’s team must be terrified that, under pressure, she’ll destroy her already faltering campaign. The method is familiar from the last presidential election: Put the candidate in the basement and keep the cameras far away.

The problem then, as now, is that the vice presidential candidate appears at least as useless as the candidate. Harris was the least popular candidate in the 2020 primaries, and Walz lies about everything, remembers nothing, brags about his military career and interest in hunting, but fails to load his own shotgun.

For those of you who know nothing about guns: A shotgun is probably the absolute easiest weapon to load there is.

If the American public has caught on to this trembling fear of scrutiny, Harris is doomed anyway. Because if her own team doesn’t trust her, why should voters?

The Time owner may be annoyed. But readers might be happy.

Because now they don’t have to wade through page after page of her nebulous, bland, pseudo-supporting babble.

This is, after all, the woman who once said:

– I think it’s very important for us in all times, and certainly in this one, to see the moment that we exist and are present in, and to be able to put that into context, to understand where we are in history and in the moment, not only in relation to the past but also in relation to the future.

If anyone understands what this means, please feel free to enlighten those of us who are a little less intelligent in the comments section.
